Are you ready for an absolutely adorable engagement story? These two had their first wedding in the 4th grade! That’s right. The 4th grade brought these two lovebirds together for the first time. Although the rest wasn’t history. These two led different lives before their paths were to cross again. I am so in love with this story and the meaning behind their Folsom, California engagement photos. Below are the wonderful details from photographer Courtney Aaron on Jillian and Danny’s story!
From the photographer: Danny & Jillian grew up in Folsom. They met in elementary school and with Jillian’s sister’s getting married when she was younger, she was very much excited about the idea of her own wedding. And so in the fourth grade, that’s exactly what she did and Danny was her groom. The wedding took place at recess the wedding and all in attendance witness the marriage of little Jillian and little Danny. The years that followed lead them in their own paths, as high school and college tends to do. Danny went on to become a successful engineer Jillian studied abroad, traveled the world until one Halloween changed their paths once more. She was trick-or-treating with her nieces and while waiting on the sidewalk for them to knock, Danny answered the door. They locked eyes, he ran out to say hello, got her number and they found each other once again and the sparks ignited. They wanted to shoot in Folsom because it has so much personal connection and Danny proposed on that very same spot, at that very same elementary school, where they first got married. The second location of our shoot was a visit to Folsom Hills Elementary and all of a sudden, I saw little Danny and little Jillian in their faces, trying to imagine how they must feel having that kind of history to their love. It’s one of my favorite engagement stories of all time and if you ever meet these two, ask them to share it. It’s like witnessing a realtime StoryCorps story.
