3 Wedding Gown Trends for Fall

Though it seems like summer is still front and center – kids are returning to class, the weather is getting a bit cooler, and it’s almost time to whip out those sweaters. As we prepare for fall – it’s also time to prepare for the fall wedding season. I searched the interwebs this week for the best bridal gown trends for fall. And, I have great news - fall is going to be a great time to wed with style. Here are my picks for the top three trends for fall 2014.

A Dramatic Back

Is your back one of your best features to show off? Well, I have good news – a dramatic back is totally in this season. Everything from Victorian styled to gorgeous lace panels are all the rage. The looks I’ve seen so far are quite stunning, and there are tons of options to choose from if you want to take on this look.

Cover Ups

A dainty cover up is very in vogue this season – something as simple as a shawl or as bold as a colorful jacket could pull this look off. Some of the styling on the runway featured intricate beading or was an additional panel to the dress. Either way, it totally won me over. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for brides rocking this.

Short is the way to go

Short gowns are predicted to be a standout this year, everything from tea-length to mini, will be on display at your nearest bridal boutique. My favorite version of this trend is the classic 50’s silhouette. A slight petticoat and fullness to the skirt makes the dress looks like a vintage find but with a modern twist. Out of what’s featured here this is the look that might resonate the most with brides – but it all depends on personal taste.
