5 Wedding Items You Should Leave to the Professionals
With the ever growing trend of DIY weddings, many brides can feel overwhelmed. Sure there are lots of wonderful and great DIY projects out there and gorgeous DIY weddings, but what if you don't have the time? If you are a bride that also has a profession, a very jam packed schedule, and let's face it you're just busy... DIY can become overwhelming very quickly. Here are my top 5 wedding items you should leave to the professionals!
Planning/Coordinating
This one makes me laugh at myself every time. I am an extremely organized person. Over the top organized. How hard could planning and coordinating my own wedding be? Oh my gosh… one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I actually broke down a few weeks before my wedding and hired a day-of-coordinator. The best decision I made. I did not have to worry about a thing during my wedding day and was able to enjoy time spent with friends and family. I do wish I had hired a professional from the very beginning. I think it would have saved myself quite a few headaches in the long run.

Photography
I might be a little biased on this one, because I ended up with a horrible photographer. Not for lack of money spent, oh no. It was a lack of knowledge and not knowing the right questions to ask. It is so important to take your time with this one. Interview numerous photographers. Don’t just go with the first photographer you talk to. Get a feel for who you like, who you click with, and who you think will be the best fit for your day. Photographers are more than just someone with a quality camera. They have spent hours figuring out light, best time of day, best angles, and of course will have a great eye. I’ve seen tons of couples hire a relative and end up disappointed. Let’s face it; your relative is going to want to socialize at your wedding too. They could potentially miss critical moments. Hiring a professional photographer will be one of the best decisions.

Catering
Back when my parents got married their friends took the entire day off work and cooked for the wedding reception. Times were different and while that is such a sweet and touching sentiment to remember, there are also a lot of things to think about these days. Many guests at your wedding have different dietary needs. A professional will know the proper way to cook, store, and present meals at your wedding so all guests are happy and no one ends up sick. They will also know how to prepare a variety of dishes to accommodate your wedding day theme, style, and tastes. Catering is one of the big wow factors you can leave guests with. There are tons of moments that will happen throughout your day and food is a big one that guests will remember. You want to invest some money in their experience and don’t leave guests with the thought “the food was awful” for years to come.

Entertainment
I’m sure you’ve heard this a thousand times, but your wedding day will fly by. You don’t truly understand what that means until it happens. The last thing you will want to do is be in charge of entertainment for your guests. DJ’s, a live band, or perhaps a photo booth will be money well spent. Your guests will have a great time and you will be able to sit back and enjoy the day with them.

Makeup and Hair Stylist
This one might seem a little weird. Of all the wedding professionals to choose from, but believe me when I tell you that this is a must. You want to look your best for your wedding day. A professional makeup and hair stylist will be able to give this to you. They know how to keep every last piece of hair in place to last the entire day and they also know the right makeup to use for those amazing photos. You are going to look back on your wedding images and be so thankful you put some of your wedding budget towards this one.
