Planning a Wedding as a Busy Bride
Planning a wedding as a busy bride is hard. Trust me, I know firsthand. I was an On the Go Bride too. You have a job. You have a life. And now you have a wedding to plan?!?! Here are 5 tips to help you busy brides plan for your big day! Get Organized
Let’s face it. Your wedding is a project. Sure there are lots of fun, exciting, and great moments. But there is also a lot of stressed. Being able to successfully manage your wedding is all about organization. Create a binder with information you collect from wedding vendors. As you make decisions, have another binder for contracts, vendor information, guest lists, seating arrangement, and day-of schedule. With today’s technology there are tons of tools, checklists, and great apps out there to help you with organization. Here are a few of my favorites.
Postable.com - A free online service to gather and store everyone's mailing address.
Every Last Detail - Tips and advice for the planning bride, no matter what stage in the planning process you are at.

Delegate
Do not be afraid to delegate tasks to family members or your bridal party. It’s hard to do everything with a full time job. Be sure to take control of the situation before it takes control of you. If you have creative friends and family let them be in charge of creating wedding programs, décor, place cards, etc. Give your parents the task of compiling addresses for family members. Put your fiancé in charge too! Give him some tasks like planning the honeymoon, getting fitted for his suit, or being in charge of wedding favors.

Research
Wedding blogs and books! There is so much information out there. I know...you’re busy and the last thing you have time for is a reading list. Trust me. Making some time in the beginning to do a little research will save you a ton of time in the end. Take a peek at some wedding blogs out there. Many of them offer great tips, advice, and educational posts. Bookmark a few of your favorites for easy reference. Books are also a wonderful resource. Just doing a search on Amazon for wedding books or the “busy bride” will bring up a bunch of options. These books will help keep you on track and take the stress of uncertainty away.

Details, Details, Details
In the beginning, figure out your two or three must haves for your wedding. Perhaps you are passionate about food and want to make sure your food is amazing at your wedding. Or maybe you love photos and want to hire the best photographer you can find! Put your focus and energy into your must haves and let the other details fall into place. You have a busy life and can’t possibly focus on every single detail, so don’t.

Hire Professionals
I can’t stress this one enough. If you are a busy bride the most important and stress free advice I can give you is to hire the professionals. Weddings are what these professionals do for a living. It is their job and it is their life. If you are a busy bride, chances are you don’t have time for a DIY wedding. That’s okay! There are plenty of people you can hire to do the job for you and still make your day look absolutely fabulous! If you are looking for some amazing vendors, be sure to browse through our vendor drop down tab above!
