Top 5 Tips To Book the Right Wedding Vendors
Booking the right vendors for your wedding is a key factor in ensuring your day goes smoothly. You want to make sure you hire vendors that are going to exceed your expectations and at the end of the day ones you will recommend to all your friends for the excellent service they provide. If you are a California or Nevada bride you can find our recommended vendors in our vendor guide that we know you will love! Or if you are still deciding, here are our top five tips on how to find and book the right wedding vendors for you day!
INSPIRATION
In my opinion, I think this is one of the most important. Being inspired by your vendor's work is going to ensure that you end up loving the end results. Think about what draws you to certain vendors before you approach them. Is there a certain style or theme you like? Are there particular ideas or a vision they have produced that you love? Knowing that a vendor's work is inspiring to you is a good indication that you will absolutely love what they create for your special day!
Picking the right vendors is a tricky recipe, you want to make sure that number one you love and are inspired by their work. Then you need to meet them and sit down, chat and get to know then a bit. You really should get along with and feel a connection to your vendors, especially creatives like Photographers/Videographers, Florists, Stylists and Planners. And lastly you should make sure they have good references, and are legally licensed and insured, this is both for your protection as well as theirs. – JLM Creative Photography

PERSONALITY
Personality is so important. You will be spending a considerable amount of time with your vendors throughout your wedding day. Making sure you click with your vendors and your personalities mesh well together is so valuable! You want to pick vendors that you could see yourself hanging out with and would make good friends. After all, you are sharing one of your most intimate days with them.
Personality is key. We have so many great vendors in our area so they have to know they will get amazing work. But if they do not connect with their vendor on a personal level for the most emotional day of their lives then that would be a disaster. Most photographers will be around the bride more than the groom for the day. – Jeramie Lu Photography
Be sure you like your vendor as a person and go with your gut. You will have to spend a good amount of time with most of your vendors so if they don't rub you the right way off the bat, you may end up unhappy in the end. – Take the Cake Events

MEET YOUR VENDORS
In our day and age of destination weddings, planning your wedding and meeting with vendors can be a challenge. Luckily with all the wonderful technology we have at our fingertips, meeting your vendors is a lot easier. If you can't meet them in person, video chat is a great option! This will give you insight to their personality, vision, and if they are a right fit for you.
I think that meeting your vendors, to see if there is a personality fit, is huge. If you're out of the area, and cannot book an in person meeting, you have to appreciate technology. Set up a Skype or a Facetime session with your potential vendors. It's always a great way to get a feel for someone's personality if you can't do that face to face meeting. – Lovely You Photography
My best tip for brides looking for their vendors (to make sure they choose the one that's right for their wedding in particular) is to really get to know the vendors you are considering, and don't shop on price alone. You will only know if your vendor truly understands your vision if you spend some time getting to know each other, and that is much more important than the price they are charging. It's also important to make sure you get along well with your vendors, which can also be figured out by getting to know them. – Matt and Jentry: Photographers

ASK QUESTIONS
Asking questions is something a lot of couples forget to do. Make sure you know all the ins-and-outs that you vendor will provide for your wedding day. Having a full understanding of what is expected during your wedding will leave everyone happy and there will be no surprises.

REFERRALS
Vendors are always going to showcase their "best" work. Why wouldn't they? Unfortunately this does not always give you a clear picture of what their average wedding performance is. Ask for some client referrals. Real referrals from satisfied clients are hard to fake. This will give you a better idea if the vendor is a good fit for you.
